Part 2: 10 ways to connect during a pandemic

Part 2: 10 ways to connect during a pandemic

Last week we shared Part 1 of our ideas to stay connected with your friends, family, and community during the pandemic. That feeling of love and connection is such an important part of self-care so this week we are back with Part 2: five more ways to spark connections, even while social distancing.

  1. Get together, safely, outdoors. Host a socially-distanced happy hour or coffee date in your driveway. Set up some camping chairs (at least 6’ apart) and put out a table with all the pandemic fixins’ -- hand sanitizer, natural bug spray, cups with a marker so people can write their names, a pitcher of something delicious to drink, and a few individually packaged snacks. Put on some great music and enjoy!
  2. Connect with yourself. While we are all feeling isolated during quarantine, the one person we definitely need to check on is ourselves. Now is the perfect time to try meditation, mindful eating, journaling, or even a little at-home pampering session.
  3. Volunteer. Volunteering has changed in the face of the pandemic, but local community organizations really need your help! Think about your passions (helping children, feeding the hungry, literacy, etc.) and find nonprofits in your community working on these issues. These organizations are offering unique ways to get involved. All you have to do is ask how you can help!
  4. Exercise. If working out is your jam, consider joining a virtual class or download an app with a leaderboard for your activity. Virtual communities are here to stay and they are redefining connections. And hey, your new exercise buddy may just be in London or Singapore.
  5. Send a friend a lil’ surprise. Our b.connected box is specially curated for women who feel disconnected and lonely during the pandemic. This thoughtful gift includes an inspiring book about togetherness, artist-designed postcards, unique playing cards, organic chocolate, and our Signature Self-Care System… everything she needs to spark connections with those around her and those she desperately misses.
